Отговор : Hristo Stoichkov (at times written Stoitchkov) is the most successful Bulgarian soccer player of all time. He debuted in professional football with CSKA Sofia and was later spotted by European giant FC Barcelona. Stoitchkov earned global acclaim after winning the Spanish Primera Division four consecutive times and taking his club to Champions League glory in 1992. At World Cup 1994, Hristo Stoichkov was awarded the Golden boot as the top goal scorer of the tournament as he miraculously led his country to the semi-finals.
Apart from his numerous awards and trophies, Stoichkov gained much popularity because of his aggressive on-pitch temper. His relentless attitude was known to irritate his opposition and enthrall his fans who preserve his image close to their hearts.
As a player, Hristo Stoitchkov plays as a left attacker/winger. His specialties include free kicks, penalties and taking unpredictable shots on goal. Stoichkov is also known for his explosive acceleration and speed dribbling.

Hristro Stoitchkov shot to fame in to the rest of the world during the 1994 World Cup in the USA. Bulgaria had a great tournement - losing in semi finals but winning the third place play-off. He played for Barcelona around this time and credited his skill to having small feet (size 5!). In 1997 he helped Barcelona win the Spanish championship, Spanish Super Cup, Spanish King's Cup and European Cup. Parma, Italy paid 15 million dollars to purchase him from Barcelona.
Today, Stoitchkov continues to play with the same zest and vigor as always with MLS. Stoitchkov was allocated by MLS to Chicago Fire in 2000, his current team. To date, he has helped the Fire win their second MLS Cup Final and led them to a second US Open Cup title in three years. Stoitchkov helped establish a team and league record in 2000 MLS playoffs by scoring two goals and three assists. He was named to the 2000 Pepsi MLS's Best 11, and he was also one of the three finalists for the 2000 MLS/MasterCard Goal of the Year.
