Днешният въпрос е за киселото ни мляко, което всички българи си мислят , че е прочуто сред чужденците. Това, което наистина ще ви изненада, е че имаше слаба активност, да не кажа никаква около въпроса, който зададох на чужденците! Получих само 1 отговор, който беше наистина изчерпателен. Bulgarian yogurt is a deliciously smooth, creamy and rich tasting yogurt. This culture may be made with whole, skim or non fat milk. You may reculture this yogurt over and over. For a thicker yogurt you may add 1/4cup of dry milk powder, prior to adding your culture. For an even thicker alternative use some canned evaporated milk.(contains live cultures, streptococcus thermophilus, lactobacillus bulgaricus)

Try this..

8 cups milk (I prefer whole milk)

¼ cup yogurt from a previous batch

or 4 tsp. of Natren yogurt starter as directed on the bottle

Bring the milk to at least 180°F, or until a ring of bubbles forms around the edge of the pan, but don't allow to boil. Let cool until you can keep your finger in the milk while you count to 10. Divide yogurt starter or old yogurt between two wide-mouthed quart glass canning jars. Pour in about 1/4 cup milk and stir to incorporate the starter. Fill the jars with the the rest of the milk and screw on the lids.

Wrap the jars in a warm blanket and let sit overnight in a warm place or for at least eight hours. Unwrap and place in the refrigerator. I know you will enjoy this creamy, healthy yogurt.

Въпросът - Is Bulgarian a useful language? Where can I use it?

Отговор : Bulgarian is not a useful language if "usefulness" is defined as possibility to use it in various countries in the world. I'm a linguist myself, and to me, all languages are useful, interesting and colourful, that's why I chose this subject for my vocation, but if I understand you well - you're not one, you are not studying it for academic purposes, right?
In that case, you won't get very far with it, I'm afraid. You can use it in Bulgaria, but not in FYROM, Macedonia, as they have their language, which is not a variant of Bulgarian. It is another thing that you will be able to understand these people, but then you'll also understand the gist of other Slavic languages. It's certainly not true that Bulgarian is used in the South-East Serbia, at least not any more or less than any other language in any other border area in the world.
Bulgarian is therefore used in Bulgaria, and if you plan on relocating there, it will be useful, otherwise not really.

Bulgarian is the easiest of the Slavic languages, given that it has no case system like most the rest, and it is rather useful. It is spoken not only in Bulgaria, but in Macedonia (where it goes under the name of Macedonian, despite there being few differences), and South East Serbia, as well as amongst the diaspora.
It will be incredibly useful, if you're in the UK especially. Remember five years ago, when Polish was learnt only by specialists or those with an academic interest? Now the need for it has boomed, due to immigration, and it will likely be the same with Bulgarian. Also, it's a nice first step on the Slavic languages ladder.

Отговор : The first time I heared about Christo and Jeanne-Claude I thought it was the oddest thing. I am not a fan of modern art. However, 12 years ago they wrapped the Reichstag in Berlin and I happened to be in the city and I loved it! People were really excited about it (after initial complaints and murmurs). They really make you look at buildings and environments from a whole new and different perspective.

Отговор : The only installation I've seen (perhaps 'experienced' would be a better word) is The Gates in Central Park last year.
I wish I *had* an explanation about what made it so inspiring. But I don't. It was breaktakingly beautiful. I've seen pictures of it, but none of them gave the impression of the emotional quality one got from being there in person.
Make a point of seeing their work in Colorado - I'm sure it will make you look at whatever they're working with from a whole new perspective!

Prices are still lower than anywhere else in Europe but it is important to do the deal with the help of an established local agency. Otherwise, you'll end up in lots of troubles and nerves.. My wife and I bought two properties over there last year.
Flights, solicitors, taxes, properties, and setting up the company all cost no more than £20k. Properties increasing on ave 20% per year.
But will rocket next year as Bulgaria joins the EU. Probably, (Human rights issues being sorted with the Rumanians).
It's down to the individual as to where you buy. Coastal is expensive now. Don't bother with Sofia. Mountains are cheap, but difficult to access. We bought houses 40 mins from coast, so we hire a car over there (£250.00 for the week Hertz). Then you can travel as well Great fun. Look at loads of houses. Ther'se loads of agents and some have there own building firms as well.
Most wont rip you off but shop around.
Don't buy off the english.
You need a trustworthy Solicitor. It is likely you will have to make him an executor of your money.
As you wont be able to do all your financial deals while over there in a short period of time.

My friend's parents did that a while ago and they had to buy the land the house was built on and for some reason in order to buy the land they had to set up a registered company....don't understand it entirely but it ends up that they now own a company with a name like *their surname* Ltd or Inc. Possibly not much help just random as we were talking about it just at the weekend! =)
PS. As for why you up there - cos Bulgaria is beautiful and it's best to get on the property ladder there sooner before it get's too touristy!

they seemed very happy.
Apparently you do have to own a business there. I was told it would be a good investment as property prices will increase as tourism grows

Отговор : It is a cheap place to buy at the present time, and can be good for summer holidays and winter skiing, but it's a bit of an "iffy" country. Crime and corruption has flourished since the end of communist control, and laws are not as efficient as you might come to expect elsewhere.

Отговор : The best place to invest in right now is the ski resort Bansko.Really beautiful quaint place with modern infrastructure and lots of things to do+ rich history. It's getting more and more expensive, so it's worth it...Sea resorts are also an option, but some are overbuilt( avoid Sunny Beach).

Отговор : I'd advice you to keep away from complicated recipes cause it's hard to make something the way it is made in a country on the other side of the world. Keep it simple.

I am from Bulgaria too.
Try making him a Tarator:
1-2 cucumbers
500 g yoghurt ( if you find active-live it's better )
3-4 cloves garlic
dill, sunflower oil and salt
Beat the yoghourt, add the crushed garlic, finely diced cucumbers, oil and salt. Stir and dilute with cold water. Serve sprinkled with finely chopped dill.
Tarator is a salad soup served cold and is a favorite for every bulgarian. Also it is something that we miss when we go abroad. I can guarantee you that this is very good surprise for him and that he will be delighted.
For the main dish you can try the Mousakka but it will be hard to do it like his mother has done it for him...

Is the UK good or bad?
I've been to the UK, Bulgarian weather is definitely better, at least its much warmer. As everywhere else close to the sea it never gets as warm (in the summer) and as cold (in the winter) as inland Bulgaria.
Sunny Beach is full of new very nice hotels, there are water parks, restaurants, night clubs, etc. As for muggers and ''service girls'' - maybe there are some, but I guess you get them everywhere in big holiday places.
A smaller more restricted holiday place is "Dyuni". Also, there are very very nice hotels in places like Primorsko and Sozopol.
If you decide to come - don't bother, you'll have more than plenty to do.
The only way to answer your question is to see for yourself - your personal experience is what matters.

Отговор : good, cheap up and coming holiday resort. you get muggers, girls offering services etc...anywhere you go in the world, just dont go alone in places you dont know or where your representative says are no go areas.
as for weather, hot during summer, and is a great place for skiing and snowboarding!

Отговор : I went 2 years ago. The weather was amazingly hot ... a few thunder storms though. We went to Sunny beach. Think a beat like cheesy Blackpool but CHEAP CHEAP booze, food , fags, CD'S ,DVDS etc. The People are amazingly nice but I would avoid taxi drivers ... we were told they were a bit dodgy.What else.... we flew with Bulgarian lines or something and stayed at Sunny Hotel (i think) That place was really nice. Try and get an apartment, its better if there is a random thunderstorm. The beaches are nice you can practically rent a sun lounger anywhere and there's life guards about. There is loads of 24hour shops open and so on. would recommend it. There really nothing to worry about, you here about muggers ever where on holiday, just stay safe. I never saw any hookers when i was there. If your not into buying stuff then you could always go to a quieter spot but Sunny Beach is the main "strip". Have fun ... if you go

Отговор : If you can help avoiding the touristy areas, where things are very expensive; and go inland to see the real Bulgaria, it would be ideal; but I suppose you want to go to the seaside. Try Albena - the sea floor there is better than at Golden Sands. If you have time, go to Dobrich, see the Botanical garden in Balchik. Veliko Tarnovo is a beatiful town; lots of old ruins and history about it.
And yes, use common sense - don't go out at night alone, with people you don' t know; negotiate a price first before using a taxi; be careful with your valuables.

Кой ли би искал да бъде български гражданин, освен ако няма някаква реална изгода от това?! Въпросът е толкова лесно ли се дава/купува българското, колкото сме чували..? Now about corrupt Bulgarian officials, yes there might be, but how are you going to pass yourself off as Bulgarian if you can't speak the lingo or relate to anything in the country. Sure, you might have a piece of paper but you must convince others.
This corruption only lines the pockets of the officials but you're basically back at step 1.
